View of the Back Bay area skyscrapers from across the Charles River, Memorial Drive near the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge. The small sailboats in the Cambridge side were used to frame the Boston skyline in the Back Bay area.

Boston Winter CityScape: Just Before Sundown
Winter 2007
Back Bay area
Boston, MA, USA

Visit the almost identical image, Reality and Perception, to have a glimpse of what was going through my mind while I was walking and taking the images in this series. This image of the Boston CityScape was taken more than 10-min after a similar Back Bay Winter Night 2007 and the Boston Government Center/Financial District. View a representative Boston Back Bay CityScape at Night taken at a slightly different location but also along the Memorial Drive in Cambridge. [Sorry I had to keep on moving here because it was freezing cold when these images were taken. I had to get to the nearest subway station by the time I was done. As it turned out, I must have walked about 5 miles or so.]

For related images, visit Back Bay, Boston and Winter 2007: Boston NightScape & Sundown . Visit the John Hancock Tower to get a feel of the various faces of the tallest building in Boston. And browse through Discover MetroBoston to get a feel why the MetroBoston area is one of my favorite cities among the places I have lived in and visited in the US, Canada and Europe. I have just begun taking images of MetroBoston and it is Winter so it has been a challenge to take outdoor shots, plus I have loaded only a few (less than 1%) of the images I have taken so far. I prefer sharing bits and pieces about the images I have taken to share the experience with you -- rather than overwhelming you with "crappy" images.

I prefer Boston also during late Spring and Early Summer when the metro area is more vibrant, expect to see more images then.

N.B.
The image was not cropped. Except for "unsharp image" and the automated resizing and "screen image optimization" to reduce the diskspace usage, no further image manipulation was done.
